During a visit to his family's log cabin in Upstate, NY, Gene realized that the property was in great need of repair. After doing some research, he discovered that sandblasting was the best approach to safely remove the old stain on the logs. After receiving some guidance from others, Gene rented the correct equipment and began to bring back the true beauty of the cabin. While sandblasting, and eventually repairing and restaining the logs, passers-by noticed his strong work ethic and attention to detail, so they asked if they could hire him to also restore their properties. Gene quickly realized that this business opportunity was perfect for him given that he loves working outdoors and thoroughly enjoys restoring older equipment and structures. In 2020, Gene launched Rustic Restorations, LLC in the greater Plattsburgh, NY region, and since then, is busy blasting away.

Through word-of-mouth, Gene has expanded his mobiles sandblasting services beyond log cabins.  A partnership with Taylor Rental in Plattsburgh, NY provides him with a home base to sandblast trucks, tractors, trailers, automobiles, auto parts and much more. He also receives requests to sandblast on site at people's homes and businesses, as well as in industrial settings. From refinishing patio furniture to removing graffiti, he offers an extraordinary array of services with his mobile sandblasting.

In 2022, Gene decided to also introduce his mobile sandblasting services to his home region of Hunterdon County, NJ. Along with his brother, Jeff, they look forward to offering their services to this rural community located within the western section of New Jersey.
